A Shadow Series audio cable for Audeze LCD-1 & Philips Fidelio X3 headphones, by OIDIO SOUND. Headphone end connectors are Rean with gold plated pins. PLEASE NOTE: These are wired differently to most dual 3.5mm headphones, and are a different connector entirely to the other LCD range, only order for Audeze LCD-1. The cable will also work in the correct orientation, i.e. left side cable to left socket, and not the other way around.

Our Shadow Series cables are a budget friendly and non-audiophile grade of cable, with a more basic design that is aimed at anyone with low to mid-range headphones that just wants a simple cable with a practical difference to the stock one, such as a different length or source connector. It is made with a 4-core 24awg copper wire cable that is coated with a dual layer of PVC: one part is the individual coating around each wire core, and then a second black coating is on the outside. We cut this to length and terminate each end with the connector(s) of your choosing. For y-split cables such as this, we also offer some minimal customisation options in the form of choosing a left and right cord colour to sleeve the wire above the split going into the headphone-end connectors. As standard with these y-split variants, the split length will be around 30cm and at the split there is a simple two layer black heat-shrink to cover the join of cord to PVC coating below. If you prefer a different split length, simply reply to your order confirmation with the split length you prefer (that is the distance the y-split part will sit from the headphones). There is also the option to have both headphone-end connectors marked with heat-shrink to help identify left / right with different colours, for this cable that is optional. Please be aware that the heat-shrink colours may not be a perfect match to the cord colours, for example they may appear paler or in a different shade.

Things to note:

• This is not an audiophile grade cable, hence the lower price, if you require an audiophile grade cable please see our other series of cables.
• The PVC coating is relatively flexible, but being a polymer based coating it is more microphonic when it comes to 'knocking' type microphonics than cord sleeving, as it cannot cushion impacts as well (for example into a desk). It does however offer good microphonics of the 'rubbing' type as it is very smooth.
• Longer lengths will sound more warmer/rounded because of things like greater capacitance and antenna effect. Therefore please be aware that if you order a length longer than your existing cable you may notice the sound is less clear or more round/warm by comparison, as the signal has further to travel as is affected more by antenna effect etc.

All our cables are soldered using lead-free silver solder (4% silver) to ensure the best quality joins for both signal and strength. The example images on our listings are as a guide only; any and all cables purchased may look slightly different to these example images. The Shadow series cables are offered with a standard 12-month warranty.
