A Mongrel Series pair of 3-pin XLR interconnect cables, with gold-plated Neutrik XLR's or Rean mini-XLR's.

Starting in 2025 this Mongrel series cable can either be made with either a high purity litz copper wire (Litz), or a PTFE protected silver plated copper wire (SPC), where the SPC choice for this cable is now using a different wire to before and our other Mongrel series cables. We have opted for this as though it is not using OFC copper anymore, the gauge is wider and better suited to XLR interconnect applications as both Litz and SPC options for this are now about 22awg. This also makes the SPC option in this listing cheaper compared to our other listings, and being a wider gauge the cable will be slightly thicker and more rigid if going for the SPC option, which would not be suitable for headphone cables but makes great durability for XLR. Please be aware that if you order a length that is longer than your existing cable you may notice the sound is less clear or more round/warm by comparison, as the signal has further to travel as is affected more by things such as antenna effect etc.

Each wire core is sleeved individually inside 550 paracord, which provides the cable with additional strength, insulation and customised look, while maintaining a high degree of flexibility. We have over 20 colours to choose from in our Mongrel series, and up to three colours can be selected. This cable features 3 cores  per cable, so are braided flat to reduce interference. For this Mongrel Series there is no splitter option, and the cable can be made to one of various lengths between 0.5-3m, with lengths above 0.5m costing more. The length is the total approximate length from connector end 1 to connector end 2 to within a few cm, and includes the length of the connector body. For information about how to correctly spec your cable including how our colour selection works please check out our cable specification guide.

All our cables are soldered using lead-free silver solder (4% silver) to ensure the best quality joins for both signal and strength.
